OpenPHACTS

The Open PHACTS Foundation supports the long-running Open PHACTS project, an open innovation and data integration initiative focused on drug discovery and life sciences. Its core mission is to maintain and advance the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform, which unifies diverse biomedical datasets—such as chemogenomics, pathways, targets, compounds, and pharmacological data—into a single, semantically linked environment. By using semantic web technologies and FAIR principles, Open PHACTS enables researchers to perform complex, cross-database queries that are difficult to execute using isolated data sources. The foundation ensures that the platform remains sustainable, interoperable, and community-driven, supporting academic labs, biotech startups, and pharmaceutical researchers who rely on integrated, trustworthy data for early-stage discovery. Although its profile is quieter today compared to its early EU-funded days, the infrastructure continues to serve as an important reference model for open, linked-data approaches in drug discovery.
