Lab Equipment Specialist

We are looking for someone who genuinely knows lab instruments to own our equipment coverage end to end - the directory, the specifications behind it, and the reviews and comparisons built on top. The ideal person has hands-on time with a range of lab technologies and can tell the difference between a real specification advantage and a marketing claim. Experience running a CMS, especially WordPress, is useful. Preference goes to candidates who have worked in sales or applications roles with lab distributors, or who have been the person signing off equipment purchases at a university or research laboratory.

Your responsibilities

  • Own and expand the lab equipment and tools directory, keeping specifications, pricing and vendor details accurate.
  • Evaluate new instruments as they launch and write unbiased, hands-on reviews and buyer comparisons.
  • Bring new distributors and manufacturers on board, and keep existing listings current as product lines change.
  • Work with our writers on buying guides, supplying the technical judgement that makes a recommendation defensible.

Marketing & Sales Manager

We are looking for someone to lead online ad sales and partnerships. Labcritics reaches lab decision-makers who are actively evaluating what to buy next, and our sponsorship model is built around that: buying guides, handbooks, the editorial calendar, the tools directory and the newsletter. Sponsorship buys visibility and association, never editorial control or a favourable verdict, and every placement is labelled - so this is a role for someone who can sell on audience quality and intent rather than on influence over coverage. Experience selling media, sponsorships or partnerships into the life-science, lab-tech or scientific publishing world is what we are after.

Position
Full or Part Time

Your responsibilities

  • Sell sponsorships across buying guides, handbooks and the editorial calendar, and grow the advertiser base beyond the current roster.
  • Build partnerships with manufacturers, distributors and lab-tech startups, including directory listings and cost-per-lead arrangements.
  • Own the advertiser pipeline from first enquiry through to renewal, and report honestly on what converts and what does not.
  • Work with editorial on sponsorship formats that serve readers first, and keep the line between advertising and coverage clearly drawn.
