Submit a Tip

Researchers, engineers and product teams tell us things we would never find in a press release. If you know something we should be covering, we want to hear it.

What we are looking for

  • New instruments, software or consumables ahead of launch
  • Equipment that fails in real use — and how it fails
  • Pricing, availability or supply problems affecting labs
  • Research start-ups building tools for the bench
  • Open-source and decentralised science projects
  • Anything a lab manager would want to know before signing a purchase order

How to reach us

Email info@labcritics.com with as much detail as you can: what the product or issue is, who is involved, and any documentation you can share.

Confidentiality

Tell us up front if you do not want to be named. We prefer named sources, but we will protect a source’s identity where being named would put their position at risk, and an editor will know who you are even if readers do not. Do not send material you are contractually prohibited from sharing.

Press releases

Company announcements are welcome at the same address. Press releases are published in our PR section and are labelled as supplied material, separate from newsroom reporting — see our editorial policy.

Pitching a contribution

If you want to write for us rather than tip us off, say so in your email and include a short outline and a link to previous work.
