New Lumina XRMS by PerkinElmer, an All-in-One Imaging System
PerkinElmer has launched the new IVIS Lumina XRMS Series III, an integrated all in one benchtop equipment for Bioluminescence, fluorescence and X-ray imaging. IVIS Lumina XRMS Series III is a highly flexible and versatile equipment for quantitative and pre-clinical imaging of lab animals like rats and mice that weighs up to 500 grams in both academic and commercial settings.
This new device comes equipped with a state of the art illumination technology for increased fluorescent transmission extending into the near infrared (NIR) range with full transmission through 900 nm. This new illumination technology in combination with the company’s patented Compute Pure Spectrum (CPS) algorithm ensures spectral unmixing for sensitive multispectral imaging to monitor multiple biological events occurring in a same organism.
Perkin Elmer’s IVIS Lumina XRMS Series III comes equipped with 21 filter sets for imaging reporters emitting green to near IR. The equipment is capable of imaging all common fluorescent and bioluminescent reporters. Apart from in-vivo imaging applications, it can also be used for in-vitro imaging of petri dishes and micro-titer plates. For in-vivo imaging, the IVIS Lumina XRMS system can be fitted with heated stage, gas anaesthesia connections, syringe injection system and other animal handling features.
The Living Image software that comes with IVIS Lumina XRMS Series III Imaging System automates the equipment’s controls and settings to provide seamless, high quality, reproducible results. It can precisely overlay the X-ray image captured in less than 10 seconds with optical and photographical images. The IVIS Lumina XRMS has a wide range of research applications in the fields of oncology, infectious diseases, implant biology etc.
