Bio-Rad’s new Gel Imaging System Aims to Elevate Benchtop Imaging

Bio-Rad has launched its most advanced Benchtop Imaging system, the ChemDoc Go, adding another top-of-the-line offering to its ChemDoc lineup.

The ChemDoc Go system promises to offer rapid, reliable, and highly sensitive gel and Western blot imaging on a benchtop scale for labs that process high volumes of imaging. Built using the proven complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) digital imaging and is compatible with chemiluminescence and fluorescence detection and uses Stain-Free Technology. The CMOS based digital imaging by BioRad offers the benchtop imaging systen that has the same high sensitivity as larger instruments, even compared to its own more expensive Bio-Plex 3D imaging systems.

FASTER IMAGING WITH ADVANCED TECH

The ChemDoc Go  supports fluorescence detection using StarBright™ Dyes with advanced chemiluminescence. Its three sample trays provide the versatility with a wide range of applications, including nucleic acid and protein quantitation through various detection methods. Users can also benefit from the option to use Stain-Free Imaging technology instead of additionaly probing and stripping with multiple antibodies for total protein normalization. The removal of time consuming antibody step simplifies and speeds up the Western blot workflow and provides quality control validation at each stage, allowing users to normalize to total protein and eliminate the need to detect housekeeping proteins.

DURABLE & EASY TO USE

ChemDoc Go swaps the commonly used fluorescent illumination with LED illumination. LED lights reduce the number of maintenance downtimes that is common with other benchtop imaging systems. The 12 inch screen interface with its cloud storage operating system reduces the learning curve and provides instant access to data across the organization. The system is also compatible with BR.io, BioRad’s cloud based storage and retrieval system.
