Metrohm is proficient in the fields of titration, voltammetry and ion chromatography, as well as in the techniques of pH, ion and conductivity measurement – while also being engaged in the development of a wide range of sensors for all these methods.

The company has many firsts to its name :

• 1950 – Introduced the first combined pH electrode
• 1956 – Launched the piston-buret—which remains the basic blueprint of today’s titrators and liquid handling systems
• 1968 – Launched the first digital titrator
• 1987 – Introduced the single-column ion chromatograph
