Thermo Scientific Expands its HyClone Portfolio
Thermo Fisher Scientific has expanded its stem cell media portfolio by adding two new products, Thermo Scientific HyClone HyCell-STEM and HyCell-STEM-FF stem cell culture media. These two variants of stem cell culture media, introduced at the 11th Annual International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) Conference at Boston are designed to optimize the expansion rate of hESCs and hiPSCs per passage for cell culture applications like cell signaling, drug discovery and therapeutic research.
Thermo Scientific’s HyClone HyCell STEM and HyCell-STEM-FF are designed to meet the ever increasing demand for the highest quality products that can the increase yields and integrity of cell cultures. Thermo Fisher’s HyCell stem cell media ensures increased stem cell expansion rate while preserving cell morphology, stemness and pluripotency. It also improves the recovery of cryopreserved cells after thawing.
HyCell-STEM and HyCell-STEM-FF are designed for use with stem cells on feeder layer cultures and in feeder-free conditions respectively. Both the variants have displayed increased expansion rate compared to other stem cell culture media currently available in the market. They yield twice the number of cells on every passage. They do not require any adaptation and the stem cells can be directly thawed or seeded into the systems. The hESCs and iPSCs grown in HyCell-STEM don’t need daily feeding, in turn saving time and resources. The feeder cells are entirely eliminated while using HyCell-STEM-FF for feeder free culturing.
Thermo Scientific’s HyClone HyCell-STEM/STEM-FF media optimizes the expansion rate, helps maintain healthy stem cell morphology while preserving stemness and pluripotency. It also offers superior thaw recovery for cryopreserved cells.
