Beckman’s New TOC Analyzer Simplifies Carbon Analysis

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is proud to present its newest product, the QbD1200+ Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer, boasting streamlined operations and strong data integrity. This state-of-the-art TOC device is designed to transform how analysis is done in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has been at the forefront of the analysis industry and has been around for the better part of a century, offering state-of-the art laboratory automation. Its newest TOC analyser is built to comply with global Pharmacopoeia laws and 21 CFR Part 11 to ensure reliability and compliance in the analytical process.

Redesigning TOC Analyzers

The newly launched QbD1200+ utilizes a digital infrared sensor instead of catalytic oxidation combustion, which reliably and automatically corrects drifts to provide long term stability.  It offers a higher yield of the targeted compounds as well as sample-to-sample carryover, dynamic endpoint detection, and heat control of the UV reactors. It is designed to work with one reagent for the test and requires only one annual service call rather than frequent maintenance, a huge respite to laboratories that have hundreds of equipments in constant state of maintenance.

Little to No Maintenance

The analyzer is equipped with seven sensors which ensure reliability with automated system checks reducing maintenance and calibrations. The QbD1200+ has a huge 7 inch interface that is touchscreen enabled, operating in full color and has been designed to reduce the learning curve compared to other TOC analyzers. Additionally, the use of encryption technology enhances data security crucial for modern laboratories.

Listening to Customer Needs

According to Mccutcheon, Matthew, the Global External Communication Manager, “Customers’ needs were key in the development of the QbD1200+ Total Organic Carbon Analyzer. It helped in defining the features that will bring them an innovative solution answering to their pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical analysis needs,” said Sr. Technical Product Manager Matthieu Chausseau. “This innovative instrument delivers quality results and makes Total Organic Carbon analysis simple. The NDIR auto-correct drift, the dynamic endpoint detection, and the reduced sample-to-sample carryover provide long-term stability, accuracy, and reproducibility. Automated system checks, validation, auto-range, auto-dilution simplify validation, daily use, and maintenance workflows. We’re confident that these benefits provide a high-performance solution that meets pharmacopeia compliance requirements, supports 21 CFR Part 11, and maintains a low cost of ownership with a single reagent.”

In short, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences` QbD1200+ Total Organic Carbon Analyzer is a significant development in drug analysis. This machine, while easy to use, also provides more accurate and comparatively faster results while fulfilling regulatory requirements due to its simplicity, accuracy and compliance features.
