Clontech Labs Launch SMARTer Universal Low Input RNA Kit for Sequencing

Clonetech SMARTer Kit

Clontech Laboratories Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Takara Bio Inc. has announced the launch of SMARTer Universal Low Input RNA Kit for Next Generation Sequencing. The new kit, with Clontech Laboratories’ patented SMART (Switching Mechanism at 5′ End of RNA Template) technology for complimentary DNA synthesis with random priming is designed to be used for sequencing compromised/degraded RNA samples.

The new kit can be used with samples obtained through formaldehyde fixed paraffin embedded tissue (FFPE), laser capture microscopy (LCM) or other common sample preparation techniques which may have an effect on the overall sample yield or quality. The SMARTer Universal Low input RNA Kit works with RNA inputs as low as 200 pg of rRNA depleted material to efficiently generate cDNA for RNA-Seq. The kit is ideal for low RIN or non-polyadenlyated mRNA samples. Clontech’s SMARTer Universal Low Input RNA Kit can be used for a number of biomedical applications and also it can be combined with other technologies to expand its utility in next generation sequencing applications.
