Results for the 2013 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition Announced

Nikon Instruments is one of the leading manufacturers of optical instruments and imaging solutions for the life sciences industry with close to a century of experience in the domain. Nikon has been conducting photomicrography contest every year from the past 39 years involving photos of objects from under the microscope.

Just like every year, this year’s Nikon Small World Contest’s photomicrographs are announced and these interesting photos features close up views of biological and chemical samples in their grandeur under the lens. The panel of judges for this year’s competition included Dr. Joan V. Ruderman – President and Director of Marine Biological Laboratory, Ms. Cara Santa Maria –  A Science Educator,  Mr. Alan Taylor – Senior Editor at The Atlantic, Dr. Ronald Vale – Professor of the Dept. of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco and Michael Davidson – Director , Optical and Magneto-Optical Imaging Center at National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Florida State University as the Judge Consultant.
