PeerLibrary is an open-source, web-based platform designed to enable annotation, sharing, and discussion around academic publications. As described on its GitHub repository, the project motto is “Facilitating the global conversation on academic literature”. The idea is to go beyond simply reading and citing papers, and to create a collaborative layer where readers can highlight, comment on, annotate, and share thoughts about scientific literature—essentially adding a semantic layer of commentary and peer engagement.
