OSF Preprints is a multidisciplinary, open-access preprint publishing platform built on the Open Science Framework and operated by the Center for Open Science. It enables researchers to share manuscripts publicly before peer review, accelerating dissemination and fostering early feedback across a wide range of fields—from psychology and education to engineering, life sciences, and social sciences. What makes OSF Preprints distinctive is its federated ecosystem: it hosts both its own general preprint server and a network of community-run servers such as PsyArXiv, SocArXiv, engrXiv, and others. All submissions receive a DOI, can include datasets and code, and integrate seamlessly with OSF project pages, supporting transparent, reproducible workflows. While it lacks the high-profile visibility of large disciplinary servers like arXiv or bioRxiv, OSF Preprints offers a flexible, inclusive, and open infrastructure that empowers diverse scholarly communities to publish early findings without barriers.
