RSpace

RSpace is an electronic lab notebook and research data management platform aimed squarely at institutional deployment, and it is common in academic and regulated settings. Its distinguishing argument is integration: rather than being another silo, it connects to the repositories, storage and identity systems a university already runs.

What it does

It combines a notebook with structured inventory and sample management, and integrates with Figshare, Dryad, Zenodo, Dataverse, ORCID, institutional SSO and cloud storage. That matters for the compliance path — data captured in the notebook can be published to a repository with metadata intact, which is precisely what funder data-management requirements ask for.

Strengths

Limitations
