Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has added one more feather to its cap by launching the newest member of its Allegra series of benchtop centrifuges. The new Allegra X-5 air cooled centrifuge for clinical sample preparation is designed for performance, reliability and endurance.

Beckman Coulter’s latest piece of equipment comes with bundled packages for various clinical sample preparation applications. These easy to setup packages include swinging bucket rotors and common adapters that can be fixed in no time. The new Allegra X-5 integrates the company’s Automate 2500 family processing systems for increased throughput and productivity. Other additional features include its capability to accommodate Beckman Coulter UniCel DxC and Unicel DxI sample racks directly for centrifugation, without involving any transfer steps.

The equipment has a maximum speed of 4700 rpm with centrifugal forces up to 4470 x g and is capable of accommodating close to 140 blood sample collection tubes at a time. The benchtop Allegra X-5, with its small footprint can be easily accommodated in laboratories. They can be used in a wide range of clinical sample preparation applications including blood, plasma and serum sample processing, protein precipitation, in-vitro cytotoxicity, receptor binding sample processing and many more.
